New York City by Rory Malone

Over the years my wife has told me I have a good eye for photography. Like every good husband I have tried to document our trips and have become the ”designated holiday photographer’’. In January 2017 I took the step and I purchased my first DSLR camera. Then in 2018 I purchased my second camera, a Canon 5d mark iii with a 50 mm 1.4 lens. Over the past 18 months we have had the privilege to travel to some of the most beautiful countries across the world such as: Hong Kong, New Zealand, France, Denmark, The Netherlands and Scotland. Below are a collection of photos I took in February 2018 whilst we visited New York for 5 days for a family birthday celebration.

New York in February; the crisp winter air filling your lungs as you step outside your hotel room. The smell of $1 pizzas in every street corner. The grid system and endless streets. The constant stream of yellow taxis being flagged down. The sore neck you are subject to at the end of each day having constantly looking up at the high-rise buildings towering above you.

I can’t encourage you enough to visit this place – you won’t regret this trip.
