Yorkshire

A Labour of Love.

Yorkshire is a huge county, the biggest in England. So its landscape, people, food and culture are incredibly diverse.

Shooting this project was a labour of love and happened over almost a year, with multiple visits across all the seasons trying to capture the full breadth of the Yorkshire experience. It was a pleasure to discover hidden gems and forgotten footpaths amongst the most celebrated landmarks. Whether in full midday sun or on a frosty December morning the countryside and towns were always rewarding. When it came to the food and drink, to feast on Yorkshire specialities like the sweetly sublime Wensleydale cheese with fruit cake or artisanal beers made with cave water was a treat to savour.

The dales are breathtaking, the coast beautiful, the driving can be utterly stunning and when you are lucky enough to get above the clouds, the views stretch for miles over the peaks. As the locals like to say, it surely is 'God's Own Country.
