Hotel Galena Mas Comangau

Begur, Spain

Tucked into the charming hillside town of Begur, Hotel Galena Mas Comangau offers a stay that feels both authentic and quietly luxurious. I spent two nights here, and it quickly became one of those places you think about long after you’ve left.

The hotel itself is beautifully rustic, set within a restored stone farmhouse that blends traditional character with thoughtful modern touches. Wooden beams, warm lighting, and natural textures give the space a cozy, welcoming atmosphere without feeling dated. Location is another major highlight. The hotel sits just a short walk from the centre of town, making it easy to explore Begur’s narrow streets, cafés, and viewpoints. At the same time, it’s perfectly positioned for those wanting to explore the coast as the beaches are only a short drive away, which makes it an ideal base for mixing town life with seaside escapes.

Breakfast each morning was a real highlight. The warmed pastries in particular were fantastic, flaky, buttery, and just out of the oven. Making it an easy way to start the day before heading out to explore. My room was comfortable and spacious, offering a peaceful place to relax after a long day of exploring. Everything felt carefully considered, from the quality of the bedding to the quiet, restful ambiance at night.

Overall, Hotel Galena Mas Comangau is a wonderful choice for travellers looking for charm, convenience, and comfort. Whether you're wandering through Begur or heading down to the nearby beaches, it’s a stay that complements the beauty of the region perfectly.
